This spring, TikiTaka’s Development Manager Tony Gustavsson has been travelling around the country to inspire and educate clubs, managers and players in the TikiTaka method. A tour that was both renowned and well liked!

Last Wednesday we started the fall season with a trip to Gothenburg and a visit to Näsets SK, a large and well-run club with over 700 active children and adolescents.

You, who faithfully have been following us, might already know the layout of 90 + 90: together with about 25 dedicated leaders, Tony started the evening with a 90 minute theory session, where participants got to learn some of the basics of the TikiTaka method.

Out on the football field, Tony then assembled the players from Näsets SK and conducted a 90 minute training session which included a small selection of TikiTaka-inspired exercises. Despite that the autumn winds blew over Åkeredsvallen, there were positive and happy faces from both players and coaches.

This week we took the opportunity to ask Stefan Mildaeus, sports director at Näsets SK, what he thought of the session:

“A very nice evening. I have seen and listened to Tony before, and one can really tell that this guy is passionate about football. His drive and commitment definitely inspires both leaders and players to continue developing. The interest in the TikiTaka method surely increased in most of the people which were present.”

We were of course also curious about the reactions from the players and how the club intends to proceed with the trainings, and received some good news from Stefan:

“The players were very positive about the training session. The training was held at a good pace and had a clear goal. We have some thoughts about implementing this into our curriculum.”

“The club is going through a process where we want to create a clearer football philosophy and identity. TikiTaka’s approach is fully in line with this.”

We say thank you to Näset’s SK for an enjoyable evening filled with football development, and hope we get the opportunity to see you again!
