TikiTaka Academy has an ambition to follow new recipes for success and trends to always be in the forefront when it comes to developing world-class players. We are therefore particularly pleased that our development manager Tony Gustavsson will again be given the opportunity to work in a World Cup.

During the 2010 World Cup you were a SVT’s expert on location in South Africa and during the summer World Cup in Brazil you have been hired by Norwegian NRK to be an expert in the studio in Oslo.

– Given my coaching assignments in Tyreso I could not be placed in Brazil, but I’m really looking forward to working with NRK again, like I did at the Eurocup in 2012. In addition it is a privilege to analyze several of the world’s best teams.

Do you think we will see some new tactical trends in this summer’s World Cup?

 –       Football always continues to evolve. That’s what’s so exciting. What are the next steps? Next countermove? We have already seen new tactical elements in Champions league where Pep Guardiola developed Bayern Mynchens game in a very interesting way.

Can you already see some clear favorites?

– There are of course several strong nations that are natural favorites beforehand but I’m also curious to find answers to questions like:

-Who will be this summer’s “surprise blow” like the 2010 edition of Marcelo Bielsa’s unique style in Chile.

 – Can a European team for the first time ever to win a World Cup on South American soil?

 – Will Brazil be the first team to ever win both the Confederations Cup and World Cup?

Congratulations Tony to another World Cup mission and good luck!

– Many thanks.
