Last Tuesday TikiTaka ran a day camp for Tyresö.  Boys and girls from ages 7-11 got to experience the TikiTaka method.  There were over 95 players and our instructor Jackie Bachteler with the help of Tyreso’s Men’s Junior Team ran the session.

The day started off with a technical warm up.  Every player had a ball and the kids learned new footwork and got many touches.   Later on the kids got to dance with the ball; every touch was to a beat, every touch was to a rhythm.

Jackie then guided each group through sets of drills though out the day.  These drills all consisted of the TikiTaka method, which combines all the elements of the game (Technical, Tactical, Psychological, Physical) in game like situations with a high degree of decision-making.

If you walked around the field or were witnessing the TikiTaka method on Tyresövallen last Tuesday there was one thing that stood out the most; HAPPINESS.   Every player had a smile on their face and was enjoying themselves so much while also learning and developing.  TikiTaka brings the passion, it brings energy, and it brings the fun back into the game.  Every player and coach left with a sense of joy, happiness and wanting more.

Here are a few direct quotes from the players themselves.

“I thought the TikiTaka method was so much fun and it is driving me to become a better player. One day I want to be a professional soccer player” Jona, Tyresö youth club

“It was really good and fun.  I really liked dancing with the ball.” Marcus G

“Today was so much fun. I learned new moves and how to head the ball.” Calle B

This method and excitement is contagious. Tuesday’s camp with Tyresö was proof.

Thank you Tyresö and a big thank you to the Men’s junior team for acting as assistant trainers.  All of the trainers brought great energy, are great role models and have very bright futures as coaches.
